Federal election law requires SMACPAC to obtain Prior Approval from a member company before communicating with its eligible executive and administrative personnel about political activities and opportunities to participate.
Providing Prior Approval does not obligate anyone to contribute to SMACPAC or participate in political activities. It simply allows SMACNA and SMACPAC to keep eligible individuals informed about political and legislative matters affecting the sheet metal industry. One authorization covers a company’s related locations nationwide for the years selected on the form.
Please note that federal law allows a member company to provide Prior Approval to only one trade association per calendar year. Members whose authorization has expired or who have not previously submitted a form are encouraged to complete the online form.
